Single origin means one flowering, one place, one harvest in the jar.
Most honey is blended until it tastes of nothing in particular. Ekvarna keeps each harvest apart. One beekeeper keeps the hives for us. They sit in one flowering for a few weeks, the frames are strained cold, and the jar is labelled with the flower, the place and the date it was taken.
Ekvarna is a new brand from RKRN, a Coimbatore company that has worked with natural products since 2019.
Five apiaries around one city.
Coimbatore sits at the foot of the Western Ghats, with coffee on the slopes, orchards on the plains and dry groves to the west. The bee boxes go out to one flowering at a time, and each honey comes back from one of them.

Hives placed in one flowering
The boxes move to where a single plant is in bloom and stay only while it is. Nothing is taken during the rains; that honey stays with the bees.
